Day of Surgery
What you need to know for the Day of Surgery:
Check-in – When you arrive at our center we ask that you check-in at the registration desk to verify personal, escort and insurance information.
- Please bring identification (drivers license) and your insurance card.
- Payments for any copay, deductibles or procedures not covered by your insurance are due on the day of the surgery.
- If financial arrangements need to be made, please contact our business office staff at 951-688-7270.
- If you have an Advance Directive, please bring it with you for your visit to Glenwood Surgery Center and we will place it in your medical record for reference in the unlikely event you are transferred to the hospital. This would ensure that a patient's wishes are carried out.
- Our Policy: While these documents play a very important role as to how healthcare decisions are made on your behalf, it is the policy of Glenwood Surgery Center that we DO NOT honor Advance Directives during your episode of care at the facility.
Following Admission – After checking in at our center, you will be brought to the pre-op room where the nurse will do a health interview and prepare you for surgery. You will stay in the room until it is time for your surgery. Due to limited space in this area, your family member will be asked to wait in the lobby and will rejoin you in the recovery area after your surgery, just prior to your discharge. EXCEPTION parents will be allowed in the pre-op area with a child who is preparing for surgery. Be prepared to sign a form giving your consent for the operation or procdures. If the patient is under 18, a parent or legal guardian must accompany the patient and sign the consent form. An anesthesiologist will discuss your anesthesia with you and answer any questions. At the appropriate time you will be taken into the operating room. The surgeon will speak with your family immediately following surgery.
